GEPCO is Gujranwala Electric Power Company. GEPCO Employees Housing Foundation has been established in Gujranwala. As many GEPCO employees do not have proper suitable living spots. By considering this need of their employees the GEHF launched a society named “Wapda City” in Gujranwala City. The reason for choosing Gujranwala city is the rapidly growing industry and rapid improvement in infrastructure.
Huge number of investors both from Pakistan and Overseas showed interest to invest in Gujranwala. So GEHF has also introduced a housing project to give their employees a standard living in the best place.
The housing society has two phases so far. Phase I & Phase II. GEPCO launched two different categories of plots. One was specified for GEPCO employees and the second one was for the general public.
GEHF did the contract with NLC on 29/01/2022 for the development and infrastructure work of Wapda City Phase I. Since then the development work is in progress. Wapda City has done most of the work in Phase I. They built two main gates. They are constructing a GEPCO transfer office in Phase I. Mosques are also being built in Phase I.
Wapda City has one of the best locations in Gujranwala. It is very close to Gujranwala City. A good location increases the attraction among investors and buyers. The location of Wapda City is perfect as it is located at the center of Gujranwala City.
Demand for properties in this area is already very high. Other societies that are near Wapda City are Garden Town, Green Valley, DC Colony, DHA Gujranwala and so on.
